Natasha and Graeme, a semi-retired couple, wanted to refresh their living and dining areas without the stress and hassle of doing it themselves. They wanted to create a space that felt comfortable, unfussy and timeless, and reflective of both their personalities.
The Challenge
Natasha and Graeme were concious of the fading curtains, tired carpet, and bland paintwork making their living space feel uninspiring. They wanted a design that felt much more personal. One that emphasised their artwork, including sentimental pieces created by their daughter. As a couple with different tastes, they needed a cohesive design that appealed to both. Having previously managed renovations themselves, they sought a smoother, less stressful process - and wanted the logistics taken care of so they could enjoy seeing it all come together without the stress of managing it themselves.
The Solution
Natasha and Graeme engaged Homes with Soul to transform their home into one they both loved. By first understanding their joint and individual style preferences, and existing pieces, I was able to recommend bold updates that aligned beautifully with their timeless pieces. Once I had designed their new look, I coordinated the transformation with my trusted tradespeople, ensuring a stress-free and timely process.

Comfortable, unfussy, timeless: Updated paint colours, carpet, and curtains transformed the room into one that exudes warmth and sophistication
Smart Updates: By reusing and updating existing pieces, such as their lounge suite, occasional chairs, coffee table and sideboard, they achieved a significant refresh for significantly less than it could have cost them. We invested in a beautiful oak sideboard which really makes the Hikitia painting pop!

“Finding a rug that would tie our room together (and that both Graeme and I would like) was impressive. Even more so, was being able to tie in a couple of paintings which our daughter had created over the years. Selecting the colour for the feature wall was an act of faith (never thought I would have a greenish feature wall!)
